The Pass

The Pass in downtown Charleston is an excellent stop for an authentic Italian deli sandwich. Their menu is full of authentic Italian deli bites– like their perfectly named Nice Italian Boy sandwich. It comes with mortadella (with pistachio!), hot & sweet soppressata, burrata, greens, tomatoes, red onion, house-made Italian vinaigrette, sharp provolone and pickled Calabrian chili relish on ciabatta. They also have an Italian Girl on the menu with roasted turkey and gabagool.

The owner of The Pass is from Philadelphia and moved to Charleston to open this gourmet sandwich shop after a career in fine dining. Lucky us!

The shop isn’t huge but its a great casual spot for lunch if you’re looking for an elevated Italian sandwich.
