The Refuge

The Refuge is a restaurant in Isle of Palms open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s a casual coffee and breakfast stop in the morning and makes for a nicer evening out for dinner. There’s actually a dedicated coffee area where you order at the counter.

Their dinner menu includes a variety of seafood, from low country etoufee to Maryland style crab cakes. The shrimp & grits with andouille gravy is a crowd favorite. They also have great appetizers, a variety of salads, several cuts of steak and even short ribs.

Don’t miss their Saturday lobster nights! They fly fresh-off-the-boat lobsters from coastal Maine each Saturday and serve them with lemon, butter and two sides. Be sure to make reservations in advance if you plan to go. If beef is more your thing, they host steak night every Tuesday.

Despite its unassuming location next to the island’s only grocery store, The Refuge offers a welcome escape. Whether it’s just for a quick coffee and pastry in the morning or a fun date night out, you are certain to enjoy your visit.
